What is Kyoik?
Kyoik is a library of free online courses for building knowledge and skills. The courses are written by professional trainers, coaches, consultants, and subject-matter experts, and each one is interactive rather than a wall of text: short lessons, knowledge checks as you read, quizzes at the end of every module, and an AI assistant you can ask questions.
Are the courses really free?
Yes. There is no fee, no subscription, and no card required. Every part of a course is included at no cost, including the quizzes, the AI assistant, the audio narration, and the certificate of completion.
How does Kyoik make money if the courses are free?
The courses are published by professional trainers, coaches, consultants, and experts, and each course names the person behind it with a way to contact them about their wider training work. The courses themselves stay free to take, in full, with nothing held back for a paid tier.
Do I need an account?
You can browse the whole catalogue and read any course overview without signing in. To open the module content, take quizzes, save your progress, and claim a certificate, you need a free account. It takes under a minute to create.
How do I start a course?
Pick one from the homepage. You can search by keyword or filter by category to narrow things down. Open the course, read the overview, then start it and sign in when prompted. From there you work through the modules at your own pace, whenever suits you.
How many courses are there, and how do I find the right one?
There are 35 courses in the library, spanning AI and technology, business and marketing, communication, finance, sustainability and society, and health. Use the keyword search or the category filters on the homepage, then read the course overview, which lists the modules and learning objectives before you commit any time.
How the Courses Work
How long does a course take?
It varies by course. Every course card shows the number of modules and an estimated time, which is usually somewhere between two and ten hours in total, though the longest courses run to twenty. Courses are built as short sections rather than long chapters, so you can do fifteen minutes, close the tab, and pick it up later.
What is inside a module?
A module is a series of short sections. Each one explains an idea in plain language and backs it with worked examples, diagrams you can tap to enlarge, and often a short video. Many sections end with a knowledge check so you can confirm you followed the point before moving on. The module then finishes with a quiz.
Who writes the courses?
Professional trainers, coaches, consultants, and subject-matter experts, who teach this material for a living. Each course names the person or organisation behind it on the course page.
What is the difference between a knowledge check and a quiz?
A knowledge check is a single question inside a lesson. It gives you feedback straight away, lets you try again if you get it wrong, and never blocks you from reading on. A quiz comes at the end of a module and is the one that counts: ten questions, and you need eight correct to pass. Passing the quiz in every module is what unlocks the certificate.
Can I retake a quiz?
Yes, as many times as you like, and there is no penalty for a failed attempt. Each quiz draws its ten questions at random from a much larger bank, so a retake gives you a different set rather than the same questions again.
Can I see which questions I got wrong?
Yes. After submitting a quiz you can review all ten questions with the correct answer and an explanation, whether you passed or not.
Do I have to do the modules in order?
No. Nothing is locked, and a wrong answer never stops you moving forward. That said, modules are usually written to build on each other, so working through them in order will make more sense than jumping around.
Are there deadlines or live classes?
No. Every course is self-paced and available on demand. There are no class times, no cohorts, and no deadlines, and nothing expires if you leave a course half-finished.
Progress and Certificates
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Your place in a course, your knowledge check answers, and your quiz results are saved automatically as you go, so you can close the tab and come back to where you left off.
Will my progress follow me to another device?
Partly, so it is worth knowing the difference. The courses you have started are tied to your account, so they appear under My Courses on any device you sign in from. Your progress inside a course is saved in the browser you are using, so switching to a different browser or device, or clearing your browsing data, will start that course fresh. If you want one continuous run through a course, stick to the same browser.
How do I get a certificate?
Pass the quiz in every module of the course. A Course Complete banner then appears with a short claim form. You need to be signed in and enrolled, and you provide your full name as it should appear on the certificate, along with a contact number. The email address comes from your account, so it is always the right one. There is one certificate per course, and submitting again will not create a duplicate.
Is the certificate an accredited qualification?
No. It records that you completed the course and passed every module quiz. It is not a formal academic or professional qualification and does not carry university credit.
Where do I find the courses I have started?
Under My Courses, in the menu behind your profile picture once you are signed in. It lists everything you are enrolled in, and you can leave a course from there if you no longer want it on the list.
Features
What is the AI assistant?
Every course has a built-in assistant you can ask questions while you study. It knows the content of the course you are reading, so you can ask it to explain a point another way, give another example, or relate an idea to your own situation. It is available at any hour, which is the point: you do not have to wait for someone to be free.
Can I listen to a course instead of reading it?
Yes. Lessons can be read aloud to you, so you can follow a course while commuting or doing something else. It uses an AI voice, and falls back to your browser or phone built-in voice if that is unavailable.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, and there is no app to install. Courses open in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. Lessons, videos, audio, and quizzes all work the same way, and diagrams can be tapped to open full screen so you are not squinting at them.
Can I contact the person who wrote the course?
Yes. Each course names the trainer, coach, consultant, or expert behind it and gives you a way to message them directly, which is the place to ask about their wider training work.
Are the courses in English?
The courses listed on the homepage are all in English. The platform itself also runs in Simplified Chinese.
Your Account and Your Data
Why do I need to sign in to read a module?
Signing in is what makes your progress, your quiz results, and your certificate yours rather than anonymous. The account is free, and the course overview stays readable without one so you can see what a course covers before deciding.
What do you do with my details?
We keep what is needed to run your account and your learning: your email address, the courses you enrol in, and any certificate you request. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the banner. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy, linked at the foot of every page.
Do you use cookies?
Essential cookies keep you signed in. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the banner, and you can decline without losing access to anything. Your course progress is kept in your browser storage rather than in a cookie.
Can I delete my account or my data?
Yes. Email hi@kyoik.com and we will action it. Your rights over your own data, under Malaysia's PDPA and under the GDPR for visitors in the EU and EEA, are set out in our Privacy Policy.
